Ayodele Abayomi BABALOLA
Ayodele Abayomi BABALOLA (mnis) is a university scholar and a distinguished registered surveyor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. A lecturer in the Department of Surveying and Geoinformatics, Faculty of Environmental Design and Management, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria.
In addition to teaching, Abayomi Babalola engages in research that addresses contemporary challenges in surveying and geoinformatics. His areas of keen interest and recent research focus on smart management and sustainability of land and environment, climate change adaptation and mitigation, socio-economic and public health management through remote sensing, geographic information sciences, subsea technology, aerial and satellite-based surveying, engineering surveying, land and geodetic surveying, and spatial data modelling.
Babalola’s rare blend of technical expertise, practical field knowledge, and intellectual depth is a plus in bridging ever-evolving worlds of industry and academia with technical excellence, industry experience, and academic scholarship needed for human capacity development. His career reflects a deliberate commitment to national building, sustainability, and advancing geospatial science in both commercial and academic spheres.
Babalola is also an advocate for technological innovation in surveying practice. He recognises that the profession is evolving rapidly, influenced by advancements in satellite positioning, real-time data acquisition, and digital mapping platforms. Through workshops, seminars, and collaborative research projects, he promotes the adoption of modern geospatial tools. His work encourages students and professionals alike to embrace continuous learning to remain competitive in a technology-driven world. He is open to research work, academic and industrial collaboration or supervision.
